Do you accept my insurance?
Insurance is not accepted at Safe Space Sober Living Homes.
Is there a curfew at Safe Space?
Yes, the house curfew is 10pm on weekdays (Mon-Thurs) and 11pm on weekends (Fri-Sun). It’s crucial to communicate with a Mentor if you anticipate being late, repeated violations of curfew may be grounds for dismissal.
Are there mandatory House Meetings at Safe Space?
Yes, all residents must participate in peer-run weekly House Meetings. Attendance is mandatory unless discussed otherwise with a Mentor.
Are daytime visitors or overnight guests allowed at Safe Space?
Guests are permitted at the discretion of Mentor, subject to pre-approval. Adherence to visitor sign-in/sign-out procedure is required. Overnight guests are not permitted. Residents must be in good standing and have a history of following house rules to be eligible for daytime visitor approval.
Does Safe Space provide residents with food, personal care items, or transportation?
No. You are responsible for your own food, personal care, and transportation, however, Safe Space Sober Living is conveniently located with nearby access public transportation and major highways.
Does Safe Space require residents to be employed? What if I am a student?
It is suggested for residents to maintain steady employment or school enrollment. These services are not offered at the house; however, referrals and access to informational tools and resources can be offered.
Does Safe Space offer professional therapy addiction services or treatments?
Services such as professional therapy, IOP, MAT, and PHP services are not offered directly at the house; however, we offer unlimited access to the information, tools, and resources required to connect residents with processional recovery services in the local area.
Can I bring my Pet to Safe Space Sober Living Home?
No, pets are prohibited from the property.
Can I bring my vehicle to Safe Space Sober Living Home?
Yes, however, please note that Safe Space Sober Living is not liable for any residents' property if lost, stolen, or damaged - including vehicles.
Does Safe Space Sober Living drug test all residents?
At Safe Space Sober Living, we recognize that recovery is a process and relapse can be part of that journey. However, maintaining a safe sober environment for all residents is our priority. All residents must agree to random drug testing & alcohol screening at the discretion of the house mentor. Refusal to participate or a positive screening will result in immediate dismissal. Residents who relapse may be eligible for re-admission under certain conditions, such as a completion of detox or treatment programs.
Is there a probationary period for new residents at Safe Space?
New residents will begin with a 30-day probationary period. During this time, residents must attend all required meetings, follow all house rules, and demonstrate commitment to recovery. At the end of this period, staff will review progress and grant full residency privileges.
Does Safe Space have a Quiet Hours Policy?
Yes, at Safe Space Sober Living we believe that a peaceful environment supports recovery, rest, and respect for everyone in our home. To maintain this atmosphere, we observe quiet hours from 9:00pm to 7:00am. During these hours, residents are expected to keep noise to a minimum in all areas of the house.
How do I apply to become a resident at Safe Space Sober Living Home?
We only need some basic information to get started. You can reach out via the CONTACT US tab, or by calling 978-238-9586. A brief phone session will help determine if Safe Space Sober Living is right for you. This easy process can be completed in about 15 minutes.
How are complaints or conflicts between residents or staff at the Safe Space Sober Living Home addressed?
Safety is central to recovery. There is a strict zero-tolerance policy against violence, threats, harassment, and discrimination at Safe Space Sober Living. In the event of a conflict or complaint in the house, the House Mentor is responsible for enforcing rules, acting as a mediator between peers, and being the liaison between residents and leadership. Safe Space is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all individuals in recovery and makes every attempt to reasonably resolve conflicts and complaints, however, repeat offenders are eligible for dismissal.
Does Safe Space Sober Living Home allow the use of nicotine products on the property? What about medical marijuana products for licensed patients?
Smoking products are prohibited inside the house including vapes, e-cigarettes, and medical marijuana. Smoking of nicotine products is allowed in designated smoking areas only & must be disposed of properly. Use or possession of medical cannabis is not permitted on the premises. Residents may not have cannabis or related paraphernalia inside the house in accordance with our strict prohibition policy disallowing the use of marijuana, alcohol, and all other illicit drugs.
What House fees are required to maintain residency at Safe Space Sober Living? Do House fees include amenities or utilities included?
The total cost per bed at Safe Space Sober Living is $250 per week, due every Friday. First and Last week's house fees are due at the time of admittance. Weekly House Fees include Wi-Fi, cable, and internet access, as well as bedding, heat, and hot water.
